Preparing for 70-462 Exam : Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases | Certification

I’m from a Database development background and working mostly with T-SQL code only. I passed Exam 70-461 back in Nov-2012, and now I’m planing to give 70-462 Exam i.e. Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases.

This exam is intended for Database Administrators who perform:
– Installation
– Maintenance
– Configuration tasks
– and other responsibilities like:
– – setting up Database systems
– – making sure those systems operate efficiently
– – regularly storing, backing up, and securing data from unauthorized access

Thus being a Database Developer (primarily) this exam is going to be the most toughest and trickiest exam in this series as I don’t have DBA experience and haven’t worked on anything in Database Administration yet.

For preparation I’m referring to Training Kit (Exam 70-462) Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases book.

    Hi Manoj,
Have you taken this exam yet? I just passed 461 on Monday and wanted to say thanks for being a great resource. I started reviewing for this exam and want to take it before EOMONTH().. That’s not funny, sorry. I know you’re against the dump practice questions but I gotta say, even though the answers are often inaccurate, the format most closely resembles the actual exam questions which was very helpful on 461

    Hi Manoj,

I passed the 70-461 last week. Your website was very useful for me especially, when I need a summary/tl;dr; version of the concepts that I didn’t quite understand at the time. Thank you for sharing the knowledge.

Anyhow, have you taken the 70-462 exam at this point? How was it? I just started studying for it over the weekend and found most of the contents to be new realm to me as I spent most of the time on application level rather than server in the past.

    Best regards,

    Patt
